Exactly what SailingFootprints provides with your trip

SailingFootprints trips include the practical essentials to get you aboard and underway with confidence. Each booking provides use of the vessel for the agreed period, essential safety equipment and a full pre‑departure briefing. A professional female skipper will be supplied as part of the booking. Basic bedding, towels and drinking water for the agreed itinerary are also included. Details and any specific limits are confirmed in your booking information.

Use of the vessel and onboard systems

Your hire covers the use of the specified sailboat for the agreed dates. The vessel is handed over with fully functioning propulsion, navigation and electrical systems. Routine checks and any necessary engine servicing are completed before departure so the boat is ready for your itinerary. Any bespoke equipment listed in your booking is supplied with the vessel.

Essential safety equipment and pre‑departure briefing

SailingFootprints supplies the safety kit required for the vessel and number of passengers. This typically includes lifejackets sized for all on board, liferaft where applicable, EPIRB, VHF radio, distress flares, fire extinguishers, first‑aid kit and bilge pumping equipment. Before you cast off, you will receive a thorough pre‑departure briefing covering operation of the safety equipment, emergency procedures, use of communications, weather considerations and the basics of mooring and anchoring for the planned route.

Skipper

SailingFootprints provides a qualified female skipper to manage navigation, safety and engine operation throughout the charter. The skipper will take command of the vessel and is responsible for passage planning, compliance with local regulations and the safety of the boat. Any specifics about crew duties, accommodation arrangements on board and working hours are set out in your booking confirmation.

Basic bedding and final cleaning

Included in your trip is basic bedding — typically bed linen, pillow and a light cover, plus a towel — so you arrive ready to sleep aboard. Final cleaning of the vessel at the end of the charter is also included as standard although you will be expected to maintain Footprints in a seaman-like fashion.

Clear details of what’s not included in SailingFootprints fares

Items commonly excluded from a standard booking are personal travel to the marina, food and drink unless catering is arranged, harbour and mooring fees, any extra fuel beyond an agreed allowance, personal travel insurance and gratuities. Optional extras such as watersports equipment or private transfers are charged separately. At SailingFootprints we aim to be transparent: these exclusions mean you can tailor your experience and only pay for the additional services you need. If you would like us to arrange catering, transfers, equipment hire or to estimate harbour and fuel charges for your chosen itinerary, please contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and costs.

Personal travel to the marina

Transport from your home to the departure marina is not included in the standard fare. Any parking or drop‑off charges at the marina are your responsibility unless you book a private transfer through SailingFootprints. We recommend allowing plenty of time for traffic and checking the exact meeting point with us before travel. If you prefer, SailingFootprints can arrange private transfer services at an additional cost — ask for a quote when you make your booking.

Food and drink

Food and drink are not included unless you have specifically arranged catering with SailingFootprints. You may bring your own provisions on board. Customarily the group discuss a menu for breakfast and lunch and jointly purchase the necessary items from the supermarket at the marina. Evening meals are typically taken at an on-shore restaurant at the group's cost. If you wish to include alcohol, this may be on an individual basis.

Harbour, mooring and fuel

Visiting harbour and mooring fees are excluded from the standard cost and vary by port and season. Home port fees and most restaurant jetties are free. Fuel is included only up to the agreed allowance for your itinerary — any fuel used beyond that allowance will be invoiced at the applicable rate. All sailing vessels in Turkey are also charged a "Back Waste" pump out fee. SailingFootprints will estimate likely harbour and fuel costs when you confirm your route.

Insurance, gratuities and optional extras

Personal travel insurance is not included and is the responsibility of each guest; we strongly recommend adequate cover for travel, cancellation and personal effects. Gratuities for the skipper are discretionary and not included in the fare — customary practice is to tip according to satisfaction with service and to include the skipper in any on shore meals. Optional extras such as watersports equipment (for example paddleboards), private transfers, specialist catering or bespoke excursion arrangements are charged separately and must be requested in advance. For a precise quote for any optional extra or to add items to your booking, contact SailingFootprints bookings.

Catering and provisioning with SailingFootprints

SailingFootprints offers flexible catering choices to suit different trips and preferences. Options range from full self-catering, where you supply and prepare your own food aboard, to pre-ordered provisioning delivered to the boat before departure. Typically the group agree a breakfast and lunch menu for the week and jointly purchase all the food and drink from the supermarket in the marina. Evening meals are generally taken together on shore. Drinking water is provided and also a selection of snacks. However, sea air can generate a demand for regular soft drinks, beer, fruit, biscuits and chocolate; so a selection of these will always be appreciated.

Overview of available options

Choose the level of service that suits your party. Self-catering gives you full control of meals and timings, while pre-ordered provisioning sees supplies delivered and stowed aboard for convenience. Supplier-led meal packages provide ready-made breakfasts, lunches or evening meals prepared to a set menu. Any catering or provisioning fees are separate from the charter rate and shown on your booking confirmation so you have clear pricing.

Self-catering on board

If you opt for self-catering, the boat’s galley is equipped for basic food preparation. You are responsible for purchasing, stowing and preparing your own provisions and for clearing and disposing of waste in line with onboard guidance. We recommend planning meals around available storage and cooking facilities and making a shopping list before arrival to make boarding straightforward.

Pre-ordered provisioning and meal packages

Pre-ordered provisioning is delivered and loaded aboard before you set sail. ?????Costs for delivered provisioning and any package upgrades are charged in addition to the charter and shown on your booking confirmation.

Menu requests and dietary needs

We endeavour to accommodate menu requests and dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or allergy-specific needs. To give us the best chance of meeting your needs, please notify SailingFootprints as early as possible — ideally at the time of booking or by contacting us well before departure. Some specialised items may be subject to availability or additional charges, which will be confirmed on your booking documentation.

Clear directions and practical arrival information from SailingFootprints

Most charters meet at our home marina. Your booking confirmation contains the exact meeting point, berth and pontoon number and step‑by‑step directions from the nearest transport hubs. The marina has public transport links, short‑term parking and nearby taxi services. If you need a transfer, assistance with luggage, accessible boarding or any other special arrangement, please contact SailingFootprints before arrival so we can organise help and confirm timings.

Where we meet at the marina

Your confirmation email will state the precise meeting point at the harbour — for example the main pontoon, the harbour master’s office or a named berth. Please follow the map link in your confirmation and report to the stated meeting location on arrival. The harbour area can be busy; aim to arrive with enough time to check in and stow personal items before boarding.

Getting here by public transport

The marina is served by local bus routes.  Your confirmation includes the nearest stop names and walking directions from the bus stop to the harbour entrance. Public transport times can vary on weekends and bank holidays. The nearest airport is YDA Dalaman.

Arriving by car and parking

Short‑term parking is available close to the marina entrance for loading and unloading. Longer stay car parks may be a short walk from the harbour; parking charges and maximum stay limits vary, so check local signage when you arrive. If you plan to leave a vehicle during your charter, confirm recommended long‑stay car parks on your confirmation or contact SailingFootprints for advice.

Taxis, transfers and special assistance

A taxi rank and ride‑hailing pickup points are located near the marina entrance. If you would like SailingFootprints to arrange a transfer, please notify us before arrival so we can book a suitable vehicle. For any last‑minute changes on the day, speak to us via the confirmation contact provided.
